Anfahrt: Von flussabwärts: wie bei Flumen, d. h. D436, dann D290 Richtung Genf und weiter nach Villard. In Le Martinet am Brunnen links auf die Route des Cascades abbiegen. Am Endpunkt in Richtung des EDF-Kraftwerks parken. Abflussmessung: Der Bief des Parres ist der ERSTE der beiden Bäche, auf die man trifft, wenn man das Kraftwerk erreicht; der zweite ist der Bief Noir, der 50 m weiter oben wieder an die Oberfläche tritt. Nicht verwechseln. Stromaufwärts: Zurückfahren und Richtung Genf über die D436, dann in L’Evalide rechts auf die D25 Richtung Les Moussières. 1,5 km vor dem Dorf in der Nähe des großen Bauernhofs von Combe Bry an der Brücke parken. Es ist überraschend, aber in sehr feuchten Zeiten verwandelt sich das Feld in einen reißenden Bach, der in die im Wald verborgenen Schluchten fließt! Neuer Zugang flussaufwärts: Gleiche Strecke wie beim normalen Zugang, aber 1200 m vor der Brücke von Combes Bry, an der Stelle „La Cernaise“, rechts auf die Straße abbiegen, die zum Parkplatz des Aussichtspunkts „La Roche Blanche“ (600 m ab La Cernaise) führt, an der Stelle „sur le Brayon“. Folgen Sie der blauen Markierung. Zu Fuß führt Sie diese Markierung links den Viehweg hinunter und dann auf einem Pfad am Waldrand entlang. Gehen Sie unter der Hochspannungsleitung hindurch und dann hinter dem verlassenen Haus vorbei. In der Nähe des Hauses biegen Sie auf einem gut erkennbaren Weg 150 Meter in den Wald ein und biegen dann rechts in das Tal ab, immer der Markierung folgend. Abstieg von ca. 1 km. Dieser neue, logischere Zugang erspart Ihnen den ersten Kilometer, der wenig interessant ist, und ermöglicht es Ihnen, etwas schneller zu den schwierigen Abschnitten dieses sehr langen Laufs zu gelangen. Außerdem ist das Parken praktisch und unkompliziert. Hinweis: Es ist möglich, nur die letzten 800 m der Schlucht zu bewältigen, mit Zugang ohne Shuttlebus von unten. Siehe weiter unten im Abschnitt „Anmerkungen“.

Approach: From downstream: same as for Flumen, i.e., take the D436, then the D290 toward Geneva and continue on to Villard. In Le Martinet, at the fountain, turn left onto the Route des Cascades. Park at the end of the road near the EDF power plant. Flow measurement: The Bief des Parres is the FIRST of the two streams you’ll encounter when you reach the power plant; the second is the Bief Noir, which resurfaces 50 m further upstream. Do not confuse the two. Upstream: Drive back and head toward Geneva on the D436, then turn right in L’Evalide onto the D25 toward Les Moussières. Park at the bridge 1.5 km before the village, near the large Combe Bry farm. It’s surprising, but during very wet periods, the field turns into a raging stream that flows into the canyons hidden in the forest! New upstream access: Follow the same route as for the standard access, but 1,200 m before the Combes Bry bridge, at the spot called “La Cernaise,” turn right onto the road leading to the parking lot at the “La Roche Blanche” viewpoint (600 m from La Cernaise), at the spot called “sur le Brayon.” Follow the blue trail markers. On foot, these markers lead you down the cattle trail to the left and then along a path at the edge of the forest. Walk under the high-voltage power line and then past the abandoned house. Near the house, turn onto a clearly visible path and head 150 meters into the forest, then turn right into the valley, always following the markings. Descent of about 1 km. This new, more logical route saves you the first kilometer, which is not very interesting, and allows you to reach the challenging parts of this very long run a bit faster. Parking is also convenient and straightforward. Note: It is possible to tackle only the last 800 m of the canyon, with access from below without a shuttle bus. See the “Notes” part below.

Unter der Brücke befinden Sie sich im Bief; gehen Sie durch das trockene Flussbett, und der erste Abseiler ist nach 8 Minuten erreicht.

Once you're under the bridge, you'll be in the Bief; walk through the dry riverbed, and you'll reach the first rappel point in 8 minutes.

Da zu Beginn kein Wasser fließt, ist diese Tour nicht als gewöhnliches Canyoning zu betrachten. Es handelt sich eher um eine lange Wanderung, bei der man in ruhiger Waldatmosphäre zahlreiche Abseiler bewältigt. Zu Beginn folgt ein sehr langer Marsch durch das Unterholz, wobei die ersten Schwierigkeiten erst spät auftauchen, sich danach aber zügig aneinanderreihen, sodass insgesamt etwa zwanzig Wasserfälle zu bewältigen sind. Die Schwierigkeit ist gering, ebenso wie die Ausgesetztheit, die relativ gering und nur punktuell auftritt. Allerdings ist diese Tour sehr lang und verläuft fernab von Straßen und somit der Zivilisation. Daher ist dennoch Vorsicht geboten. Keine nennenswerten Schwierigkeiten. Bei Problemen (ab der Hälfte der Strecke) verlassen Sie die Straße und gehen Sie auf einen Weg, der vom Tal hinauf zum Rocher Blanche führt. Auf dem Rückweg bietet ein Weg, der den Kurs kreuzt und rechts davon verläuft, einen Notausstieg.

Since there is no flowing water at the start, this tour should not be considered a typical canyoning experience. It is more of a long hike during which you’ll navigate numerous rappels in a peaceful forest setting. The route begins with a very long walk through the underbrush; the first challenges don’t appear until later, but they then come in rapid succession, so that a total of about twenty waterfalls must be navigated. The difficulty is low, as is the exposure, which is relatively minor and occurs only sporadically. However, this hike is very long and runs far from roads and thus far from civilization. Therefore, caution is still advised. No significant difficulties. If you encounter problems (past the halfway point), leave the road and take a trail that leads up from the valley to Rocher Blanche. On the way back, a trail that crosses the route and runs to the right of it provides an emergency exit.
