Der Gesäusebundesstrasse zwischen Hieflau und Admont zum großen, kostenpflichtigen (6 € pro Tag) Parkplatz an der Kummerbrücke, Ausgangspunkt für den Wasserfallweg auf die Hesshütte.

Den markierten Wasserfallweg zur Hesshütte folgen. Nach der letzten Versicherung dem Weg noch etwa 5min bis knapp vor dem Ebersangerbach folgen. Knapp davor kann man durch steiles aber recht gut gangbares Waldgelände in den Felsenkessel oberhalb der Wasserfälle absteigen/abseilen. Man visiert dabei die große Lärche an, die am Wandrand links vom Bachlauf steht. Kombination mit Hesshüttenbesuch möglich (Gehzeit vom Einstieg noch ca. 1 Std.).

Follow the marked waterfall path to the Hesshütte. After the last insurance, follow the path for about 5 minutes until just before the Ebersangerbach. Just before this, you can descend/rappel through steep but fairly easy forest terrain into the rocky basin above the waterfalls. Aim for the large larch tree on the edge of the wall to the left of the stream. Can be combined with a visit to the Hess hut (walking time from entry approx. 1 hour).

Tourenbeschreibung orografisch: * 1-2 Baumabseiler ca. 15m über Schrofen und Felsbänder bis zur großen Lärche * Von großer Lärche 30m in den Schluchtgrund abseilen. * Stand links vom Wasserfall (1 Bolt+Rapidglied+Ring) 25m. * Schottriges Gehgelände 50m, am besten orogr. rechts vom Bach absteigen. * Stand hinter Felsblock neben Bach Rechts (Bolt-Rapid) 35m (Kann umgangen werden, bis hierher Fluchtmöglichkeiten Links). Man kann auch 20m abseilen und dann von einem der Bäume orogr. rechts vom Bach 10m abseilen. * Stand Rechts in Nische direkt neben Bach (Bolt+Rapid) 50m. * Stand Links (Bolt+Rapid) 20m. * Bolt+Rapid orogr. rechts 6m zur eigentlichen Kante * Stand Links an der Kante (Kettenstand) 100m genau bis unten. (3 Zwischenstände, Je nach 30 bzw. 50 m und 65m links) Der Stand nach 30m ist ein Kettenstand auf einem recht bequemen Band mit genug Platz für 3 Leute, etwas nach links versetzt. Bei 50m gibt es zwei schon ziemlich hinüber aussehende Stände in der Fallline vom obersten Stand. Vom Zwischenstand bei 30m könnte man einen etwas besseren Stand in einer kleinen Felsnische erreichen. Nach 65m gibt es noch einen neuen Hängestand an zwei Bolts, bei Wasserführung recht feucht. * 80 m Gehen. * Stand Rechts (Bolt+Schlinge+Ring) 10 m (Eventuell neue reepschnur mitnehmen) * 10m Gehen. * Stand Links (Bolt+Schlinge+Ring) 10m . * zwei Stufen abklettern, Stand links nicht gefunden. * Stand Links (1x Bolt mit fixem Karabiner, 1x Bolt mit Ring) 80m bis zum Wasserfallweg. Nach 15m gibt es einen neuen Haken mit Rapid links direkt an der Kante. Bei Wasserführung sehr feucht, Platz für 1 Person. Scharfe Kante nach 15m, Seilschoner mitnehmen Wanderweg quert, am Wanderweg absteigen bis sich der Weg wieder vom Bachbett entfernt 20m über gestuften Fels im Bachbett abklettern 20m von Klebehaken rechts abseilen 7m von Expansionshaken mit Kettenglied links abseilen 30m von Haken rechts abseilen kurz abklettern, dann nach links zum Wanderweg ausqueren

Orographic route description: * 1–2 tree rappels, approx. 15 m over scree and rock ledges to the large larch tree * From the large larch tree, rappel 30 m down to the bottom of the gorge. * Belay station to the left of the waterfall (1 bolt + rapid link + ring), 25 m. * 50 m of scree-covered terrain; it’s best to descend orographically to the right of the stream. * Belay station behind a boulder next to the stream on the right (bolt and rapid link) 35 m (can be bypassed; escape routes to the left up to this point). You can also rappel 20 m and then rappel 10 m from one of the trees orographically to the right of the stream. * Belay station on the right in a niche directly next to the stream (Bolt+Rapid) 50m. * Belay station on the left (Bolt+Rapid) 20m. * Bolt+Rapid, orographic right, 6 m to the actual edge * Belay station on the left at the edge (chain anchor) 100 m, exactly to the bottom. (3 intermediate belay stations, at 30 m, 50 m, and 65 m to the left) The belay after 30 m is a chain anchor on a fairly comfortable ledge with enough space for 3 people, slightly offset to the left. At 50 m, there are two belays that look pretty worn out in the fall line from the top belay. From the intermediate belay at 30 m, you could reach a slightly better belay spot in a small rock niche. At 65 m, there is another new hanging belay on two bolts; it gets quite damp when the water is flowing. * Walk 80 m. * Belay station on the right (bolt + sling + ring) 10 m (you may want to bring a new rope) * Walk 10 m. * Belay station on the left (bolt + sling + ring) 10 m. * Downclimb two steps; did not find the belay station on the left. * Anchor point on the left (1 bolt with a fixed carabiner, 1 bolt with a ring) 80 m to the waterfall trail. After 15 m, there is a new anchor with a rapid on the left right at the edge. Very wet when the water is flowing; space for 1 person. Sharp edge after 15 m; bring a rope protector Crosses the hiking trail; descend along the trail until it moves away from the streambed again Downclimb 20 m over stepped rock in the streambed Rappel 20 m from the glued anchor on the right Rappel 7 m from the expansion hook with chain link on the left Rappel 30 m from the anchor on the right Downclimb a short distance, then traverse left to the hiking trail
